Where do sessions happen?
Mostly around Moreton Bay and Brisbane's northside: beaches, mangroves, riverbanks and parks. I'll suggest a spot when we chat. Newborn and at-home sessions happen at your place. The Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast are fine too, just ask. There's more about locations on the sessions page.
Why only weekends?
Little Finch fits around my own family, so I keep it to weekend afternoons and two or three families a month. It means I'm never rushing your session or your gallery.
What time will we start?
About an hour before sunset. That's roughly 4pm in winter and closer to 6pm in summer. I'll confirm the exact time the week of your session.
What if it rains?
I keep an eye on the forecast all week. If it looks dodgy I'll check in the night before, and we'll move you to another weekend together. Or if you're keen, let's embrace the rain and create something unique and magical (if it's safe to do so).
My kids won't sit still. Is that a problem?
Not at all. I don't need them to sit still. The first part of every session is just them exploring while they get used to me. Plenty of my favourite photos are of kids who were meant to be doing something else.
What should we wear?
Soft, plain colours with a bit of texture, like cream, sage, dusty blue or denim. Skip big logos and busy prints. The gallery is a good place to look for ideas, and I send my full Style Guide once you've booked.
When do we get our photos?
You'll get a sneak peek within 24 hours and your private online gallery within three weeks. The gallery stays open for 60 days, so download your favourites and back them up somewhere safe.
Can we get more than our 25 photos?
Yes. You can upgrade to the whole gallery straight from your online gallery: 60+ photos for a Nest Session, or 30+ for a Feather Package.
Do you do prints?
Your photos come as high-resolution files, so you can print them wherever you like. I can also order prints and framed pieces from an Australian lab and have them delivered to you.
How do I book and pay?
Choose your session and a date on my booking page. A booking fee secures your date, and the rest is due the week of your session. It's all paid online.
Can I give a session as a gift?
Yes, I do gift cards. Email me at hello@littlefinchphotography.com and we'll sort it out.
Do you photograph weddings?
No. I stick to families, maternity, newborns and couples.
